I probably shouldn't be posting this, but what the hell.

I did a bunch but this is the bestest. Not a good sign, is it?

Anglo-Dutch poster!

mood:
thirsty
music: Paul Barman
Here's my poster for the new Anglo-Dutch micro brewery campaign. Weird, isn't it?
Apparently, there's a Dutch expression for something that tastes nice and it translates as 'it's like angels weeing on my tongue!' Hence this...

Colouring with the Wacom is surprisingly thirsty work!
There'll be preview pages from my new comic soon. I'm all but ready to start drawing the thing!

Character design!

music: Mine!
I've spent weeks trying to come up with a look for the characters in my new comic but I think I got there on my lunch break today. I did this on the Wacom at work, which made me wonder if I could be bothered creating the whole thing that way... Probably not - even though it's much, much faster!

Also, I made a short song about cacti!

I'm not sure the brewery will settle on this but as far as I'm concerned: it's done! Nine versions later!

Actually, I did this ages ago but the bottle label it's for is changing, so I'm revisiting it!

I'm still very jealous you're all drawing comics while I'm working on freelance stuff. But I'm getting paid, so I mustn't grumble!
If I get my act together, maybe I can start my new series (Find Comet, Hit Comet, Watch Comet, Sleep) this weekend! Hup-ho!

I admit I wasn't keen on this at first when I'd inked it, but it came together with the colour and it does what it's supposed to do! BOING!

I have a few more things to do before I can crack on with my new comic project, 'Find Comet, Hit Comet, Watch Comet, Sleep'!

Further to yesterday's post, here's the finished version of The Redhouse Rockets' Coffee, Beans & Wilf The Brick album cover!
I thought the leaves looked nicer in a deep red and I shrunk Wilf down.

Coffee, Beans & Wilf The Brick!
1st. Jun, 2009 | 08:26 pm
mood:
cheerful
music: Redhouse Rockets: Havin' a Blast!
I've done band artwork before but this really feels like my first proper album art commission. I've been called upon at the eleventh hour for rockabilly band The Redhouse Rockets, who needed art for their new album, Coffee, Beans & Wilf The Brick with only a few days to do it. They played at my wedding and brought the barn down, so I was happy to do it!
There's still some tweaking to do and I can't see the colours properly on my screen so I'll review it at work, tomorrow.

( Pencils and inks here! )

Here's the latest pump clip I did for a local micro-brewery. I just draw what they tell me...

And I was character designing last night for a new comic. I'll probably just default to the inked character, though, since I can draw that guy pretty quickly!

A couple of my Jenny's Weird Friend prints have gone on sale over at the Dangerous Ink affordable art gallery - featuring magazine artists' prints - and a couple have already been bought!

Who remembers Nickelodeon's The Adventures of Pete & Pete?

I've been looking for the soundtrack by Polaris for about 15 years and I finally got my hands on a copy today! Little did I know it was hidden away on Amazon somewhere, still in it's original wrapper!
I also got this T-shirt I designed:

Panel Borders interview!

mood:
relaxed
music: Flight of The Conchords
I haven't listened to this fully myself yet but here's my interview with hard-working comic journalist, Alex Fitch, for Panel Borders, which just so happens to be my favourite podcast! (Click on your preferred choice of download option to listen.)
I'm about half way through but the whole thing is definitely worth a listen purely for Roger Langridge, who's on before me.
Roger's take on Kermit:

I'm the one with a stronger-Northern-accent-than-I-realized-I-h ad and talking like words are going out of fashion.
Thanks again to Alex and I recommend Panel Borders to man and beast, as I download it every week.
